The Koh Samui Super Strain has been one of our best sellers ever since we introduced it at The Hawks Eye. We helped fund a trip for Enthomycologist John Allen and -Clyde- to find us spores to new mushrooms strains from Thailand and Cambodia and they came back with some jewels. In fact most of the Thailand cubensis mushroom spores floating around the internet originated from this adventure and we use to sell many varieties of spores from Thailand cubes, such as the Pink Buffalo, Lipa Yai, and Lamai Beach to name a few. In the end we narrowed it down to one as there is only so many spores you can keep in stock and keep the spores rotating and fresh.

Magic Mushrooms are very popular in Thailand and a normal part of their culture. You will find art work in many places in Thailand with magic mushrooms in the art. Many different sub tropical species of psilocybe mushrooms grow wild in Thailand which is why they are so easy to find their.

In Koh Samui and other places they have the full moon festivals at beach bars where shrooms and mushroom tea are passed around freely. Thailand is a tropical climate with plenty of cattle around to lay down the dung in the grasslands for mushrooms to thrive. There is a picture of the shroom field in Koh Samui this strain was picked from. Perhaps it’s time to make our own full moon festival.

This did take its sweet time during the spawn stage, but colonized the bulking material within two weeks! Granted it was in a small sterilite box. This strain definitely prefers warmer conditions. I normally keep my house at 70-72f and only gathered small 3-4gram mushrooms one or two at a time. I left them alone and covered for two days in the window sill (it was a warm holiday this year) and came back stunned! Lots of pins, HUGE mushrooms (comparatively, about 20 grams per shroom with a total of four). Blended some of the dried ones into a powder and drank it in a fruit smoothie. Felt like I was in a cartoon, laughing my butt off, great mood having a grand old time. Hour four of six got real rainbow-y and patterns appeared where they hadn’t before. -MayDay US Virgin Islands shrooms are legal here come enjoy the full moon festivals

I went mss to brf, with a relatively low ambient temp (about 70f)...and had zero success. Colonized extremely slowly. Cakes seemed to want to fruit, but only produced a very miniscule amount of slow-growing mutation(s) here and there (nothing worth harvesting). I wouldn't mind trying again, but I definitely wouldn't use pf tek, and I would probably get my temp up. Jacob from Spain

One of my favorites, right up there with the penis envy. This is not just your average everyday cube, this is a powerhouse, under the microscope anyway. You can't go wrong with this one. It's not PF friendly in some people's experience, but who cares, right?

Just know that this is one of the slowest producers I be ever come across and the stabilizd strain looks nothing like most of the pictures shown. What does pop up isn't bad just not authentic ksss *From the Hawk**the authentic KSSS started here at TheHawksEye (now mushrooms.com) back around 2001. Mushrooms are shapeshifters, especially this one. A lot of factors can slow it down but yes this strain does not have the big punch it had back 18 years ago.
